Posted: February 11, 2011 in Festivals

The New Jersey music festival “Bamboozle” also known as “The Great Bamboozle” which began back in 2003 as a two day event and has since expanded to three has released its lineup for 2011 and will be held in East Rutherford, NJ at the New Meadowlands Sports Complex. The dates for the festival are April 29th, April 30th, and May 1st. There will be a decent amount of key post-hardcore, and rock n roll bands playing this year. Highlight bands included are as follows:

Motley Crue

A Day To Remember

Attack Attack

Black Veil Brides

Motionless In White

Senses Fail

Of course this festival spans out to other varieties of music such as pop rock, hip hop, and R&B artists however these are the bands from the heavier genre that will be there. Be sure to check the Bamboozle website below to see when these bands play on their respective dates.

Easily one of the heaviest tours of the summer Rockstar Energy Drink’s Mayhem Festival, has announced its line up for 2011. The tour began in 2008 and has build a reputation for bringing you the loudest, heaviest, most insane bands of the year all together in one day with multiple stages to simply rock your face off. The tour begins this year July 9th in San Bernardino, CA and wraps things up August 14th in West Palm Beach, FL.

This year’s line up is extremely promising with the headlining bands: Disturbed, Godsmack, and Megadeath playing with other big name bands such as Trivium, Suicide Silence, and In Flames. For metal fans this is a day of great rock that can not be missed the link for the main site to look up tour dates will be posted below so be sure to find out when this tour will be in your city this summer. More bands will be playing they are listed below as well as this years advertisement.

Arguably the most popular tour of the summer the Van’s Warped Tour has announced more bands to be in the lineup for 2011. With about 70-75 bands and around 8-10 stages Warped Tour has enough music for everyone to find something to enjoy every year. Warped tour begins June 24th and runs through August 14th for 2011 and as always has begun to announce more and more bands as everyday gets closer to this summer. Stand out bands that have been announced include:

We Came As Romans

The Word Alive

Woe, Is Me

Of Mice & Men

Miss May I

I Set My Friends On Fire

Dance Gavin Dance

With more bands to be announced I will post the link to the VWT site so you guys can stay updated with who else has been added. Also check the dates and see when the tour will be headed your way this summer, from my own personal experience it is the best day of music you could possibly give yourself every year. Expect to see other bands announced again this year such as Pierce the Veil, Alesana, Eyes Set to Kill, Attack Attack, Parkway Drive, Bring Me The Horizon, etc.

For those of you who are unaware of what the Download Festival is, it is a three day long Rock N Roll music festival covering artists from new to old, from Cinderella to Slipknot Download will have something there for you to enjoy. It takes place at Donington Park, England and is in June every year since it has started in 2003.  Many people view Download as the follow up act to the older Monsters of Rock festival that was held between 1980-1996, for me it’s more of a modern day Woodstock or Warped Tour on steroids.

Last year at Download there were 100+ bands there and on Monday they have just announced the first big wave of bands to be playing the festival this year. For bands to get announced I would say is a pretty huge accomplishment because this is such a well known festival and to headline something this big has got to be a great milestone especially for some of the younger bands or bands of our generation.

To just name a few of the bands include:

Avenged Sevenfold (Headliners)

Alter Bridge

Bullet For My Valentine

Black Veil Brides

Escape the Fate

Hollywood Undead

Rob Zombie (Headliner)

System of a Down (Headliners)

With many more bands to come before the festival takes place June 10th – June 12th this year’s festival is going to one for the record books as you can tell by some of the bands that have already been listed already. For those of us here in the US it’s a bit hard to actually fly over there and get there but there’s always tons of coverage of it over the summer on channels such as VH1 Classic, Palladia, and Fuse. Also some bands such as Slipknot did in 2009 may film their set for a DVD one can only hope, but if you’re loaded (unlike myself) and are looking for a kick ass time this summer definitely try and make it out to Download this year. I’ll keep you guys updated as bands continue to become announced and I’ll leave the Download site below this post for you guys to check it out.
